Summary of Hello, My name is Scrambled Egg

HELLO, MY NAME IS SCRAMBLED EGG

By Jamie Gilson
The novel “Hello, my name is Scrambled Egg” tells a story about daily life of a kid named Tuan Nguyen and his family from Vietnam that moved to Harvey’s family in America. In this story contains of two main characters and there are Tuan Nguyen the Vietnamese and Harvey Trumble the American. Their daily activity after Nguyen existed in America was studying in a school. Harvey had to bring him to the school every day and helped Nguyen how to speak English better. They became good friends because they always together all the time.
Mostly in this story tells about Harvey and Tuan Nguyen that always made jokes all the time. What I enjoyed about the novel is when Harvey would teach Nguyen about English on computer. Another parts that I like are when Nguyen thought that hairdryer was a gun and he also thought that hotdog is really made of dogs.
Author of this novel wants to show readers about friendship between two different country and different culture and how both Tuan Nguyen and Harvey do their daily activity and spend their time together. The package of this novel is nice and I like that. It is colorful, interesting and good-looking. The language that the author used is good and the story also flows slowly and easy to understand.
This story reminds me to my father. He sometimes does something useless and little strange which makes me and my mom laugh. He said that it was an awful coffee after he thought he drank a cup of coffee but it is not coffee. Instead he drank a cup of herbal medicine which has strong bitter taste. Something simple like that makes me and mom laugh almost every day. Thus, the novel is interesting to be read generally for people who love funny story. And it is not only that, but the novel also shares readers about different culture and how to make a good relationship with someone new, moreover refugees.
